Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapist focused on Upper Extremity/Hand rehabilitation. You will evaluate patients referred by physicians, set goals, and implement therapy plans in a supportive environment, collaborating with the care team.

You will educate patients and families, assist with discharge planning, and participate in daily department operations, with emphasis on hand therapy and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist License required.
• 0-1 years related work experience in Occupational Therapy, with specialization in Hand Therapy for at least one year.
• Experience with computer systems including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, establishes goals and implements treatment programs per department procedures and standards of care.
• Appropriately assesses and manages pain according to established guidelines.
• Instructs patients and families in Occupational Therapy procedures as part of ongoing programs and plans for discharge with involved team members.
