Job summary

Grand Valley State University is seeking a part-time Finance & Grant Specialist for the MI-SBDC program in Grand Rapids. The role supports the Director of Finance & Grants with financial reporting, grant documentation, contract coordination, procurement, invoice review, and grant expenditure monitoring.

Responsibilities include coordinating with regional offices, assisting with SBA Cooperative Agreements and other funds, ensuring compliance with federal/state requirements, and preparing monthly

Qualifications

• Federal and/or State grants management experience.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in business accounting, grants, or finance.
• Experience developing and delivering management reports.
• Excellent oral and/or written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience with spreadsheet and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with finance monitoring and reporting alongside the Director of Finance & Grants.
• Maintain organized grant documentation for audits.
• Reconcile monthly grant information with the Lead Center’s systems.
• Process financial documentation including purchase orders and invoices.
• Monitor open purchase orders and track project expenditures.
• Assist with state and federal reporting requirements and contract documentation.
• Support contract and subaward monitoring and program compliance.
• Assist with year-end close out and audits.
