Job summary

The University of Maryland, College Park seeks a Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations for the Health Policy and Management graduate programs. You will supervise graduate admissions, student advising, registration, scheduling, experiential learning, and communications, reporting to the Department Chair and collaborating with the Director of Graduate Studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience in higher education, academic advising, student personnel administration, or counseling.
• Knowledge of recruitment, retention, and customer service best practices.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

Responsibilities

• Graduate Administration and Advising: Advise students on degree requirements, registration, academic policies, and graduation.
• Admissions, Recruitment, and Onboarding: Coordinate application processing, faculty review, applicant communications, recruitment, orientation, and onboarding.
• Academic Operations and Experiential Learning: Coordinate course scheduling and maintain syllabi. Support internships, practica, and capstones, including placement tracking, documentation, and communications with faculty and community partners.
• Program Data and Communications: Prepare reports for accreditation and program assessment; maintain handbooks, websites, and student communications; coordinate events; track student funding documentation; and improve administrative processes.
• Departmental Support: Support meetings, events, special projects, and routine operations. Provide backup administrative coverage and perform other duties assigned by the Chair.
