Job summary

University of Maryland at College Park seeks an admissions/recruitment coordinator to support executive and associate directors. You will plan and execute events, interface with applicants and ambassadors, and maintain communications across in-person and virtual channels.

The role interfaces with CRM and databases and collaborates with Student Services, Career Services, Alumni Relations and Marketing. Flexibility for diverse duties is expected in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or higher education.
• Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
• Knowledge of policies, procedures, and institutional purpose and goals.
• Knowledge of best practices in recruitment, retention, and customer service.
• Knowledge of best practices in organization and administration.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
• Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tactical execution of activities and events designed to attract inquiries, applicants and yield new students.
• Engage with high-quality group event planning and delivery as well as one-to-one client interfacing in formats including in-person, social media, webinars, and online chats.
• Ensure active engagement with individual applicants and admitted applicant pools and manage ongoing communications with student and alumni ambassadors.
• Interface with CRM and application databases.
• Collaborate with Student Services, Career Services, Alumni Relations and Marketing and Communications.
• Assist with gathering and assessment of competitive intelligence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
