Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay updated on new theories and procedures.
• The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Know and enforce athletic policies approved by the Board of Education and ensure staff compliance.
• Interpret regulations for staff and ensure proper administrative lines of communication.
• Supervise staff, coordinate with athletic director and principals, and support coaching staff.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for team and individual success.
• Promote character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and school pride among student athletes.
• Attend clinics, observe, and continually upgrade coaching knowledge.
