Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Customs and Border Protection Officers (CBPO) at the GS-5, GS-7, and GS-9 levels with promotion potential to GS-11 and GS-12. Positions may be located in various duty locations across the United States.

Base pay ranges from $41,863 to $127,464 per year with overtime and comprehensive federal benefits. New hires may receive recruitment incentives of up to $15,000 per year with multi-year service contracts.

Qualifications

• GS-5: general experience OR education substitution OR combination of both.
• GS-7: specialized experience OR education substitution OR combination.
• GS-9: specialized experience OR education substitution OR combination.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture law and regulations;
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel;
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances;
• Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States;
• Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of contraband.

Education

Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full 4-year course of study
