Job summary

Nourish LA is seeking a part-time Food Recovery Coordinator based in Los Angeles to support our food rescue operations. The role focuses on onboarding new volunteers, Edible Food Generators, and Food Recovery Organizations, while maintaining communication with the network and tracking inventory through the Nourish LA app.

The role reports to the Technical Director and involves coordinating schedules, ensuring health and safety protocols, and providing excellent customer service to donors,

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience coordinating volunteers or community programs.
• Familiarity with digital tools and apps for tracking and communication.
• Detail-oriented and reliable with a passion for sustainability and food justice.

Responsibilities

• Onboard Edible Food Generators and Food Recovery Organizations; ensure health and safety protocols.
• Onboard and train new volunteers; develop onboarding materials.
• Maintain communication with the Nourish LA network and manage volunteer schedules in the app.
• Track food recovery data and inventory (weight, type, destination).
• Maintain up-to-date volunteer and partner information in the app; support operational improvements.
