Job summary

The Harris County Flood Control District is seeking an experienced Development Coordination and Inspection Department Manager to lead the DCID, supervise field and office staff, and ensure timely reviews of drainage projects. The role involves oversight of demolition contracts, asset documentation, and coordination with developers and engineers to resolve design variances.

Qualified candidates hold a Civil/Construction related degree (or equivalent experience) and have strong GIS/SharePoint

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree related to construction with two years of construction experience with project plans.
• Alternate: High school diploma with five years of construction experience with project plans.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises daily activities of the DCID and staff.
• Oversees development inspections and coordination with developers.
• Reviews plans and specs for non-flood-control features for compliance.
• Interacts with developers and engineers to resolve design variances.
• Coordinates with other District departments and County Office of Engineer meetings.
