Job summary

Capital Region BOCES seeks a Financial Systems Support Specialist to assist school districts across New York with finance software, payroll, budgeting and accounting tasks. You will troubleshoot system issues, advise on optimal use and interface with software vendors to keep districts financially compliant and efficient.

Role requires accounting/finance knowledge, strong customer service, and the ability to learn new systems.

Qualifications

• College degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field with 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting function.
• Strong computer literacy with ability to learn new systems.
• Experience with Wincap and/or nVision a plus.
• Experience in government or educational business offices or accounting is ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline financial systems support for school district offices statewide, addressing finance system questions and troubleshooting issues.
• Advise on how to maximize use of payroll, budgeting, accounting modules and interfaces with software vendors.
• Serve as subject matter expert on financial systems used for payroll, budgeting and financial analysis.
