Job summary

Families in Transition is actively seeking a Facilities Associate to keep our housing units and offices clean, safe, and welcoming. The role involves daily custodial duties, apartment turnovers, exterior maintenance, and collaboration with Facilities Technicians to support repairs and improvements.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position based in Manchester and surrounding locations. You will operate cleaning equipment, monitor safety deficiencies, manage supplies, and assist with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Ability to travel to Families in Transition locations in Manchester and Concord as needed
• Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in extremely cold and hot environments

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties such as vacuuming, cleaning floors, sweeping, dusting, and cleaning walls/windows in common areas
• Clean apartments thoroughly during turnover to ensure move-in readiness
• Maintain exteriors by picking up litter and sweeping walkways/parking areas
• Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment (vacuum, carpet extractor, burnisher, buffers) and report needed repairs
• Monitor properties for safety issues (lighting, smoke detectors, water damage) and escalate as needed
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and notify Facilities Manager when stock is low
• Open/close facilities, disable/enable security alarms, ensure buildings are secure
• Assist with landscaping tasks and operate seasonal equipment (snow blowers, mowers)
• Support Facilities Technicians with painting, drywall repair, bulk trash removal, moving appliances/furniture
