Job summary

Fountain House is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs across equipment and systems at multiple sites. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and efficient operations in a community-based setting.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing issues, maintain detailed records, and collaborate with staff to plan maintenance tasks. The position runs 9am–5pm with some evenings and weekends, paid hourly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, required.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Certificates of fitness for Fire Guard (FO1) & Supervision of Fire Alarm (S95) within first year.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and troubleshoot machinery and equipment to identify issues.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, light carpentry and parts replacement.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing problems.
• Read manuals and schematics to perform repairs.
• Operate hand and power tools and other specialized tools as needed.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure work complies with safety guidelines and regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff and managers to prioritize needs.
• Respond to emergency repair requests promptly.
