Job summary

NC State Extension is seeking an Ag Program Assistant to support county Extension staff with field, classroom, and office tasks. The role includes data collection from on-farm trials, preparing monthly and annual reports, and assisting with workshops and advisory meetings.

Applicants should have a high-school diploma or equivalent; advanced training in related fields is preferred. Strong computer skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and good teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• The minimum requirement is a high-school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced training in related fields is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist extension staff in office, field, and classroom settings.
• Work with tree fruit, vegetables, small fruit, ornamental and livestock programs as needed.
• Organize and maintain data from on-farm trials and prepare reports.
• Search for research-based information using online resources and manuals.
• Help prepare for events such as workshops, field days, and advisory meetings.
• May participate in Master Gardener activities and related programs.
