Job summary

Integrity House, New Jersey’s oldest active nonprofit provider of compassionate care for addiction and mental health, is hiring an Employment Specialist – Pathways to Recovery in Newark, NJ. You will support participants in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment through coaching, employer engagement, and collaboration with workforce partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration, Workforce Development, Counseling, Rehabilitation Services, or related field required.
• Minimum two years of workforce development, employment services, recruitment, or job placement experience.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit employers to participate in hiring events, informational sessions, job fairs, and workforce development activities.
• Conduct participant employment assessments and assist with career pathway exploration.
• Assist participants with job search activities, resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation.
• Coordinate interviews between participants and employers.
• Identify employment opportunities aligned with participant skills, interests, and IEPs.
• Support participants in securing unsubsidized employment opportunities.
• Collaborate with Workforce Readiness Instructors to reinforce job readiness skills.
• Coordinate referrals to occupational training opportunities including CPRS, OSHA, SORA, Home Health Aide, ServSafe, HVAC, Welding, and other approved training programs.
• Conduct participant follow-up at Weeks 1, 2, 4, 8, and 12 following employment placement to support retention and address barriers to success.
• Provide individualized job coaching, mentoring, and workplace problem-solving support.
• Assist participants in developing workplace success plans and retention strategies.
• Coordinate with One-Stop Career Centers and Workforce Development Boards to maximize employment opportunities.
• Track participant employment outcomes, wages, retention milestones, and employer feedback.
• Maintain accurate documentation and enter required data into agency and grant management systems
• Participate in community outreach, networking events, and workforce development initiatives.
• Prepare monthly performance reports and assist with grant reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with NJDOL, WIOA, HIPAA, and agency requirements.
