Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is seeking an Employment Specialist to network with employers, identify job leads, and negotiate opportunities for participants in the Placement Services Program. You will also provide direct services, maintain consumer data, and advocate for individuals with disabilities seeking employment.

The role requires travel, strong communication, and collaboration with rehab professionals, with performance measured by leads, interviews, and placements each month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; HS diploma required.
• One year experience with individuals with disabilities or two years in Placement/Sales/Marketing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to coordinate with teams and external sources.

Responsibilities

• Job development and employment procurement for participants assigned to caseload.
• Make presentations to business professionals at various locations.
• Case management to assist individuals in acquiring and maintaining employment.
• Maintain ongoing communications with team members regarding participants and services.
• Develop, modify and implement service plans for assigned participants.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and related documents.
• Maintain case folders per CARF, OOD, and Medicaid standards.
• Travel locally to observe businesses and transport participants.
• Teach job seeking skills; chair staffing with participants and referral sources.
