Job summary

Center Point ISD seeks an Elementary Special Education Teacher to provide learning activities and experiences that foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth for students with special needs.

You will develop or modify curricula, prepare lessons, and tailor instruction to match student abilities. Collaboration with ARD committees and support for IEP goals are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Knowledge of ARD/IEP processes and goal setting.
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs.
• Effective communication with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional/therapeutic programs and show evidence of preparation.
• Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate strategies and materials.
• Present material according to IEP guidelines and use varied instructional techniques.
• Work with regular teachers to modify curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD meetings and in selection of instructional media.
• Establish and maintain communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
