Job summary

Dedham Public Schools Oakdale Elementary School in Dedham, MA seeks a Long Term Substitute Elementary Special Education Teacher to cover Oct 2024–Jan 2025. Immediate starting date with collaboration across SPED staff and families.

Requirements include a Master’s degree and MA SPED certification; experience with language-based and executive function challenges, plus specialized reading training and familiarity with IEPs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Massachusetts Special Education Certification and Licensure.
• Experience with students with Language-based Learning disabilities, SLDs and EF challenges.
• Specialized reading training (Wilson Reading / Orton-Gillingham).
• Experience as a special educator with standardized assessments.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with administrators, colleagues, families.
• Strong behavior management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of assigned SPED program.
• Plan, teach and adapt instruction to IEPs/Service Plans.
• Assess using standardized protocols; participate in SATs.
• Develop and update IEPs; chair annual IEP meetings.
• Supervise paraprofessionals; collaborate with team to support inclusion.
• Maintain PowerSchool records; collaborate with service providers.
