Job summary

NOTTOWAY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking a Principal for an elementary school with 12-month / 240-day terms. The role reports to the Division Superintendent and requires Virginia principal licensure and a Master’s in education administration.

The position emphasizes instructional leadership, data-driven improvement, and building-level program supervision while managing school operations and community relations.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in education administration with eligibility for Virginia Post Graduate license with admin endorsement.
• Licensure as a building level principal through the Commonwealth of Virginia (Administration and Supervision, PreK-12).
• Extensive administrative and educational experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as instructional leader; use data to lead the school’s efforts in ensuring high academic achievement.
• Work with other administrators to provide an instructional program aligned with division goals and policies.
• Develop, supervise, and evaluate school programs; manage staff and resources for student growth.
• Foster strong school-community relations and effective communication with parents and community.
• Devise and administer a school budget; ensure accurate bookkeeping in line with policies.
• Lead implementation of policies and oversee facilities and grounds maintenance.
• Engage in professional learning to stay current with elementary education developments.
