ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, GSFC contractor, seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist in Greenbelt, MD to support the NASA Goddard ROME contract.

The role focuses on interpreting regulations, planning facility changes, and implementing safety programs across sites, with regular inspections and training.

Candidates need a Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience; background checks for site access are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• 2–4 years of applicable field experience or equivalent.
• Ability to pass background checks for site access.

Responsabilités

• Interpret and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Plan for facility changes to meet new environmental requirements.
• Contract and monitor licensed hazardous waste disposal firms.
• Write and update environmental and spill-control manuals.
• Provide input to regulators via trade associations.
• Develop and enforce safety policies for commercial environments.
• Conduct site inspections and risk assessments.
• Deliver safety training programs (OSHA, electrical safety, fall protection).
• Investigate incidents and near-misses.
• Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety measures.
• Maintain records of audits, training, certifications.
• Promote proactive safety culture via toolbox talks.
