ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at NASA GSFC in Greenbelt, MD to support the ROME contract and ensure regulatory compliance across facilities.

The role involves inspections, safety program development, hazardous waste coordination, incident investigation, and collaboration with project teams to embed safety into planning and execution.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass background requirements for site access.

Responsabilidades

• Interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental, health and safety regulations and/or company policies.
• Assists in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet new environmental requirements.
• Finds, evaluates, and prepares contracts for properly licensed hazardous waste disposal firms and monitors waste handling.
• Writes and updates environmental and spill‑control manuals and procedures and prepares environmental impact statements and permits renewals.
• Provides input to regulators and industry groups for the writing and revision of regulations.
• Delivers improvements of processes, systems, or products and interfaces with internal and external parties.
• Develops, implements, and enforces safety policies and procedures for commercial environments.
• Ensures consistent safety practices across field operations.
• Conducts site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Performs safety training programs including OSHA compliance, electrical safety, and fall protection.
• Investigates incidents, near‑misses, and accidents.
• Collaborates with project managers and field supervisors to integrate safety into project planning and execution.
• Maintains records of safety audits, training, and certifications.
• Promotes proactive safety culture through toolbox talks and safety meetings.
