Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join the Emergency Department in Newark, Ohio. This part-time day shift (7a–7p) role supports nurses with basic patient care tasks and monitors patients as assigned.

You will collect specimens, document in the electronic medical record, obtain vitals and weights, and assist with routine clinical procedures under RN supervision. Strong communication and CPR certification are required, with ED exposure preferred.

Formación

• Minimum requirement: high school diploma or GED.
• Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
• Electronic medical record competency.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• Obtain/maintain 12 lead ECG testing proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Complete assigned patient care tasks.
• Accurately collect, perform and document urine pregnancy tests and quality controls associated with it.
• Perform one-to-one monitoring on high-risk patients when requested by RN or physician.
• Obtain vitalsigns and weights.
• Collect, label, and accurately enter specimens obtained.
• Enter work orders in computer.
• Stocks supplies at bedside and restock before leaving shift.
• Documentation in the electronic medical record.
