Job summary

Kidango is seeking an Associate Teacher to assist the Teacher, Master Teacher, or Center Director and oversee the general supervision, development and education of children in our program.

You will help plan daily activities, prepare the learning environment and materials, perform primary care giving, and maintain a safe, healthy setting while communicating with families and supporting staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Unexpired Associate Teacher Permit from the Department of Education is required.
• 1 year prior experience working with young children preferred.
• Infant/Toddler units required (3 or 6) for Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher.
• Immunization records per Senate Bill 792 (measles, pertussis, influenza).
• CPR/First Aid Training Certification required.
• 40 hours health and safety training including 1 hour nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, preparing and implementing daily program.
• Assists in planning and preparing the learning environment and materials.
• Performs primary care giving responsibilities.
• Maintains environment in a clean, safe manner.
• Communicates with parents; participates in conferences.
• Supervises Teacher Aides, Substitute Teachers and Volunteers.
• Assumes responsibilities in absence of senior staff.
• Ensures health, safety and well-being of children.
• Prepares written reports and attends meetings.
• Participates in professional growth activities.
