Job summary

Mid Michigan Community Action Agency is seeking an Associate Teacher to support developmentally appropriate programming for eligible children, following curriculum and funding guidelines in coordination with management.

You will help ensure quality service delivery, protect confidentiality, and collaborate with staff, Policy Council, and area school personnel to create a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED and experience with young children.
• Family Service Credential within 18 months of hire or the first session offered thereafter.
• 16 hours of annual training in addition to CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen training.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate program following curriculum and guidelines.
• Ensure quality program service delivery.
• Protect confidentiality of customers and families; handle information discreetly.
• Take attendance of children at mealtimes and supervise meals when needed.
• Assist in transporting children to and from the site.
• Maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment and promote teamwork.
• Complete required program documentation neatly and timely; meet goals.
• Recruit families and promote agency programs within the community.
