Job summary

Kidango is seeking an Associate Teacher to support daily program planning and implementation. You will assist in creating a nurturing learning environment, perform primary care duties, and maintain safety and health standards for all children in the center.

You will communicate with families and participate in meetings, while supervising aides, substitutes, and volunteers as needed, ensuring confidentiality and alignment with the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• Unexpired Associate Teacher Permit from the Department of Education is required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with young children preferred.
• Infant/Toddler units (3 or 6) required for Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher.
• Immunization records compliant with SB 792.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• 16 hours of health and safety training including nutrition training.
• Must be a mandated abuse reporter.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, preparing and implementing daily program.
• Assists in planning and preparing the learning environment, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
• Performs primary care giving responsibilities.
• Maintains the environment in a clean, safe manner.
• Regular parent communication, including parent conferences and chats.
• Supervises Teacher Aides, Substitute Teachers and Volunteers as requested.
• Assumes responsibilities in absence of Supervisor as needed.
• Ensures health, safety and well-being of all children in the agency.
• Prepares written reports as directed.
• Attends meetings as requested.
• Participates in activities for professional growth.
• Maintains confidentiality of children, families and employees.
• Promotes the organization’s mission and philosophy.
