Job summary

Macon Program For Progress is hiring an Early Head Start Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering developmentally appropriate activities in a Head Start classroom. The role follows Head Start policies and emphasizes family engagement, safety, and continuity of care.

The candidate will assist in weekly lesson planning, support routines, and participate in child assessments, home visits, and parent conferences as scheduled.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, required.
• Two years experience working with children, preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certification at hire or within 6 weeks.
• Bi-Lingual English/Spanish skills are beneficial.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Assists Lead Teacher in planning daily developmentally appropriate activities.
• Helps implement Head Start curricula and learning routines.
• Maintains health and safety practices in the classroom.
• Supports families and fosters positive relationships with children.
• Participates in assessments, conferences and home visits as scheduled.
