Job summary

OWBC is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to plan and organize a classroom for children aged 0–3, under moderate supervision. You will implement curriculum, develop lesson plans, and coordinate with a co-teacher and parents to support early learning.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, plus CPR/First Aid and Child Development credentials where applicable. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration within a Head Start Center.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and adhere to safety policies and licensing standards.
• Coordinate, schedule, and complete parent-teacher conferences and home visits.
• Assist with daily educational activities and communicate with parents.
• Assess and document health and behaviors of children.
• Plan and present daily instructional activities with co-teacher and parents.
• Assist with implementing individualized curriculum including IEP/IFSP goals.
• Conduct individualized activities to meet each child’s needs.
• Organize time and materials to manage classroom and attend meetings.
• Integrate activities from content areas into the classroom.
• Complete child observations and maintain weekly reports.
• Provide customer service at reception and greet visitors.
• Review weekly lesson plans with Education Coordinator for approvals.
• Follow content area plans and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff, students, and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
