Job summary

The Arc of Butte County is hiring a Direct Support Professional for its Adult Day Program in Oroville, CA. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a pay range of $17.00 to $18.30 per hour.

You will lead structured activities, teach life skills, and promote independence for individuals with IDD in center-based and community settings. Join a compassionate team dedicated to inclusion and meaningful engagement.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in caregiving, education, or human services preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and professionalism are essential.
• Ability to provide direct care and assist with daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, exercises, cooking, and educational tasks.
• Plan and support community outings and recreational activities.
• Encourage participation, social interaction, and independence among clients.
• Teach and reinforce daily living skills (self-care, hygiene, money management, communication).
• Provide hands-on support to individuals with IDD in a respectful, person-centered manner.
• Assist clients with mobility, behavior support, and daily routines as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, attendance, and client progress.
• Communicate observations to supervisory staff and participate in trainings and meetings.
