Job summary

The ARC of Butte County in Chico, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Adult Day Program. You will lead structured activities, teach life skills, and promote independence in a safe, supportive environment.

This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with hourly pay between $17.00 and $18.30 depending on experience. You will work with participants of varying abilities, providing hands-on support and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Relevant experience in caregiving, education, or human services preferred.
• Compassion and empathy for individuals with I/DD.
• Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Hands-on support and daily living skills experience.
• Reliability, professionalism, and good attendance.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Adaptability to changing needs and situations.
• Basic documentation skills for records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities such as arts, crafts, music, games, exercise, cooking, and education.
• Plan and support community outings and recreational activities.
• Teach daily living skills and promote independence.
• Provide hands-on direct support with respect and person-centered care.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and progress.
• Communicate observations to supervisory staff and participate in trainings.
• Drive Arc vehicles and accompany clients on outings when needed.
