Job summary

Axiom Care is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and our policies. You will ensure quality food service by coordinating with the Dietitian and Director of Food Services, and by following established procedures.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, developing department policies, and planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by physicians. Collaboration with other departments is essential to ensure timely service and resident

Qualifications

• Must have Illinois Food Service Sanitation certification.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English clearly.
• Ability to work independently, maintain integrity, and interact effectively with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating department policies and food service manuals.
• Interpret policies to personnel, residents, visitors, and families as needed.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by the physician.
• Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary.
• Collaborate with the facility’s dietitian and implement recommended changes.
• Ensure that all food service procedures follow established policies.
