Job summary

Aperion Care is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with applicable standards and policies under the supervision of the Dietitian and Director of Food Services. The role emphasizes quality food service and coordination with other departments to meet dietary needs.

Ideal candidates will have sanitation certification, English fluency, and the ability to work independently in a resident-focused environment. Hospital or nursing facility food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or similar setting preferred but not required.
• State Food Service Sanitation certification required.
• Ability to read, speak and write English clearly.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating department policies and manuals.
• Interpret department policies for staff, residents, visitors, and families.
• Assist in planning diet menus as prescribed by physicians and ensure availability for cooks.
• Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility’s dietitian and implement recommended changes.
• Ensure all food service procedures follow established policies.
