Job summary

Relay, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Device Team for Summer 2027. You'll work on Relay's custom Android-based devices, touching hardware, OS, and software across the full stack.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with Android application development, Linux system programming, and embedded firmware, with ownership of a project and a final presentation to the team. The internship is paid, in-office, with opportunities to transition to full-time after graduation

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Proficiency in C, Java, or Kotlin; Android/AOSP experience a plus.
• Experience with Linux systems programming and embedded development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on product development for Relay's custom Android-based devices across one or more layers (Android, Linux OS, embedded).
• Fix bugs and build new features spanning application and OS-level programming; touch Linux kernel and daemons.
