Job summary

Relay Launchpad is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for the Device Team in Raleigh, NC. You will work on Android-based hardware, spanning application development and OS-level programming, with exposure to embedded firmware and Linux-based tools.

Summer interns gain practical, full-stack device experience, with ownership of projects, mentorship, and a potential path to full-time roles after graduation. The role requires in-person presence at Relay's Raleigh HQ during the summer.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science or related technical field with GPA 3.5 or above.
• Strong proficiency in C, Java, or Kotlin; Android/AOSP experience a plus but not required.
• Experience with embedded systems programming or Linux at POSIX level is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop Android-based features for Relay devices and OS-level components.
• Contribute to embedded firmware and hardware interfaces across the device stack.
• Collaborate across teams to ship updates on a ~6 weeks cadence.
