Job summary

Inter-American Development Bank seeks an Development Effectiveness and Operational Consultant in Washington DC to strengthen design, execution and closure of loan operations within Citizen Security. The role supports the CIS in aligning with development effectiveness frameworks.

You will contribute to improving evaluability, reporting, and knowledge products, working within the Institutions for Development Department to enhance impact across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics, statistics, public policy or related fields.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in multilateral development banks or international development organizations.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English; French and Portuguese preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review ToC, result matrix and indicators; promote robust results logic.
• Assess evaluability of loan operations and alignment with development effectiveness standards.
• Participate in quality reviews and corporate approval processes.
• Provide technical support to improve project execution and risk management.
• Prepare and review PCRs focusing on relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.
• Systematize evidence and lessons learned to strengthen development effectiveness.
