Job summary

Inter-American Development Bank, Washington DC, seeks an International Development Effectiveness and Operations Consultant to support Citizen Security (CIS). You will enhance design quality, execution, and closure of operations, aligning with IDB priorities and development effectiveness frameworks.

You will work in the CIS within the Institutions for Development Department, shaping sector strategies, policies, and evidence to address crime and justice challenges across Latin America and the

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics, statistics, public policy or related field is required.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in multilateral development banks or international development organizations.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in citizen security or criminal justice projects.
• Experience with evaluability frameworks, results-based management, and corporate reporting tools is required.
• Fluency in Spanish and English; knowledge of French/Portuguese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and strengthen ToC, results matrix and indicators; promote sound logic of programs and results.
• Contribute to evaluability of loan operations and alignment with development effectiveness standards.
• Participate in quality review and corporate approvals withSPD and OVE.
• Provide technical support to enhance effectiveness in project execution, including risk management and milestone monitoring.
• Contribute to preparation and review of PCRs in relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability sections.
• Systematize evidence, results, and lessons learned to strengthen development effectiveness.
