Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Community Coordinator to support the Cycling & Micromobility Unit. The role involves managing the Chief's calendar, coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and maintaining records.

The candidate will assist with procurement, external partners, and outreach events across DOT initiatives. Responsibilities include organizing unit reports, distributing the Bike Map, handling correspondence, and ensuring timely follow-up on requests.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
• High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
• Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above, with at least one year of experience as described in the first option.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Chief's calendar and coordinate meetings with internal and external entities.
• Prepare agendas and materials, take minutes, and track follow-up items.
• Prepare and maintain reports on incoming and completed requests and initiatives.
• Maintain organized filing systems and assist with procurement activities.
• Coordinate external partner contacts and support outreach events.
• Distribute NYC DOT's Bike Map and manage related shipments and inventory.
