Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation’s Cycling & Mikromobility Unit seeks a skilled Communications Coordinator to craft micromobility content and coordinate unit messaging. You will support bike safety campaigns, create web content, and manage project portals.

You will work with agency partners to enhance public engagement, prepare materials for events, and help promote NYC’s bike network across five boroughs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in transportation engineering, mathematics, urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban studies, or related fields.
• Or bachelor's degree with relevant experience in roadway transportation and traffic studies.
• Or combination of associate degree and extensive experience in the field.
• Strong writing, editing, and public-facing communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft presentations, newsletters, and web content to promote micromobility and bicycle projects.
• Coordinate messaging and outreach across units and external stakeholders.
• Maintain unit web portals, update project content, and develop visual materials with the unit's graphic artist.
• Prepare talking points, fact sheets, and public-facing material for events and media inquiries.
• Support campaigns on bike safety, micromobility etiquette, and public engagement activities.
