Job summary

HealthRIGHT 360 is seeking a Cook for the Male Community Reentry Program, a residential treatment and reentry initiative. You will oversee food preparation, ordering, and kitchen supervision in a team-based setting, prioritizing safety and sanitation while supporting clients in learning kitchen skills.

You will ensure meals meet nutrition standards, drive the kitchen's FIFO-based inventory, and coordinate with the Food Services Department to maintain quality and budget compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A culinary degree from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Current food safety and sanitation certification is required.
• First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Valid California driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals following the production menu.
• Manage food orders within budget and utilize donations creatively.
• Transport food and supplies between facilities using the kitchen van.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards and ensure equipment is serviced.
• Train and evaluate clients working in the kitchen; enforce safety policies.
• Support team morale and collaborate with Food Services to meet agency needs.
• Complete required trainings and respond to emails and meetings timely.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
