UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Cook to support Residential Dining and Helpings Café. You will prepare meals, lead basic kitchen tasks, and ensure safety and sanitation according to Maricopa County Health codes.

This intermediate role requires experience in fast-paced food service, inventory handling, and teamwork within a mission-driven nonprofit setting. Flexibility to work days and evenings is required, with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking in a fast-paced food service environment required.
• Experience with inventory process and procedures preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs culinary skills and techniques including roasting, sautéing, sauce production, batch cooking, gourmet salads, and common side dishes.
• Leads kitchen tasks of ingredient preparation, labeling and proper storage of food in containers, and maintains sufficient levels of food at all stations.
• Exhibits knowledge of proper food storage, rotation, and disposal in accordance with food safety standards.
• Assists with inventory of all program supplies and works with managers to manage related expenses as needed.
