Job summary

The Salvation Army Oak Creek in Wisconsin seeks a full-time Coordinator of Social Ministries to oversee programs such as Pathway of Hope, Community Outreach, Food Pantry, and Emergency Services. This role develops, implements, and evaluates program operations and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.

The position also supervises volunteers, drives community engagement, and leads grant writing to secure funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Public Relations, Non-Profit Program Management or related field.
• Two years’ experience with program management.
• Experience in public relations, communications, non-profit work and personnel supervision.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Certifications: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with approval to drive from TSA’s insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Outreach Programs including the Social Service and Senior Center programs and monitor outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with staff to ensure services meet clients’ holistic needs and remain effective.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and participate in community meetings to bolster networking.
• Attend community events as a representative of The Salvation Army.
• Develop or present informational materials for donors and community groups.
• Identify client needs and connect with Salvation Army and other resources.
• Oversee Food Pantry operations and food distribution, including driving for donations.
• Provide referrals to access additional resources for clients’ goals.
• Participate with Pathway of Hope activities locally and divisionally.
• Supervise volunteers and ensure they have tools to complete tasks.
• Plan, develop, and oversee budgets and grant writing opportunities.
