Job summary

Barber-Nichols is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods across operations, leveraging knowledge of materials, processes, equipment capabilities, and tooling/fixture design.

You will drive process documentation, coordinate equipment needs, and work with Project Engineering and other departments to meet customer requirements and schedules while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a CNC machining environment.
  • 3 years of lean manufacturing experience in a CNC environment.
  • 3 years' experience with recognized quality systems (ISO, AS, QS, TS).

Responsibilities

  • Review process documentation to meet customer requirements and develop verification documents.
  • Develop documentation, order equipment and coordinate activities to meet schedules.
  • Verify production requirements and improve department capability metrics.
  • Maintain facility maintenance schedules for safety and quality.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure data transfer meets customer needs.
  • Ensure safety and quality throughout all processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
