Job summary

Summit Employment Professionals in Wichita, KS seeks an experienced manufacturing professional to lead process development and improvements across aerospace production lines. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Programming to ensure manufacturability, quality, and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in aerospace manufacturing, CNC experience, GD&T proficiency, ERP familiarity, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in aerospace/aircraft machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CNC machining processes and production workflows.
  • Experience with process development, routing creation, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and work instructions.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure manufacturability.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support new product introduction from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with Programming, Quality, and Production to optimize cycle times and workflows.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and process improvements.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (including ITAR as applicable).
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production and quality issues.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction).
  • Provide guidance and support to Level I Engineers as needed.

Job description

Responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, high quality standards, and on-time delivery. This position works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Programming teams to support new and existing product lines while ensuring manufacturability and process consistency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and work instructions
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure manufacturability
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production
  • Collaborate with Programming, Quality, and Production to optimize cycle times and workflows
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and process improvements
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (including ITAR as applicable)

  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CNC machining processes and production workflows required
  • Experience with process development, routing creation, and work instructions required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time as needed on the production floor
  • Familiar with safety standards and PPE utilized in a manufacturing setting
  • Must have reliable transportation and work overtime as needed
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and materials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Experience with ERP systems (JobBoss or similar) preferred
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
