Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years in a laboratory environment preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize high-volume workloads.
• Maintain strict data privacy and confidentiality of sensitive medical information.

Responsibilities

• Verifying, accepting, and processing tissue and fluid specimens.
• Sorting and distributing specimens to laboratory sections, prioritizing urgent cases.
• Preparing and processing clinical samples for testing.
• Coordinating external compliance for specimens sent to state health departments.
• Maintaining and updating the laboratory database to track specimens.
• Answering incoming calls and routing inquiries to appropriate sections.
• Monitoring logs, organizing records, and maintaining orderly work area.
• Managing inventory, records of distribution, and costs.
• Planning and procurement to ensure adequate supplies for patient care.
• Leading supplier negotiations and cost optimization.
