Job summary

The Circuit Clerk at St. Louis County Courts will oversee administrative, operational, and clerical functions across civil, criminal, family, probate, traffic, and small claims divisions.

You will lead a large team of state and county employees, shape policies, and ensure records integrity in line with statutory and court rules. You will manage budgeting, fees, and court costs, liaise with agencies and committees, and drive continuous improvement in court operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Eight years of professional experience in the legal field including five+ years at a management level.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and manage administrative, operational, and clerical support for all County Court Divisions.
• Act as Appointing Authority for 190 state employees and 6 county leaders at management levels.
• Direct and manage departments: Accounting, Administrative Services, Civil, Courtroom Services, Criminal/Traffic, Probate, and Records.
• Direct case processing procedures and ensure compliance with legislature, Supreme Court rules, and local practices.
• Oversee data collection, reporting on litigation volume, and budget development for the Circuit Clerk’s Office.
