Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Case Manager Investigations to perform case management in the Child Welfare Investigations area, including initial investigations of child abuse and neglect and coordination with agencies to ensure safety and well‑being.

You will engage families and partner with law enforcement, prepare legal packets when needed, and document all activities in CAPSS per policy, while maintaining certifications and pursuing ongoing training and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science required.
• Bachelor's Degree in any other field with one year experience in a related field may be acceptable.
• Selected positions may prefer a Master's Degree. Child Welfare experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs case management in the Child Welfare Investigations area per DSS policy and GPS Practice Model.
• Conducts timely initial investigations of reports of child abuse and neglect.
• Engages families and partners with empathy and respect; responds to calls, emails, and texts.
