Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Team Leader - Investigation to coach case managers, ensure compliance with DSS policies, and lead complex investigations to protect children and vulnerable adults.

You will supervise trainings, maintain FAST and CAPSS documentation, and collaborate with families and professionals with empathy and leadership. Requires degrees in social fields and driver’s license; on-site role in DSS divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• Bachelor's Degree in any other field and one (1) year experience in a related field.
• Master's Degree or higher may be substituted for the required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations and supervise case managers, coaching and training.
• Promote safety, permanency and wellbeing by conducting case consultations and reviews; facilitate meetings and trainings.
• Ensure timely completion of FAST; keep CAPSS updated and ensure referrals for services.
• Engage with child welfare staff, families and professionals with empathy and leadership.
• Initiate legal actions when safety requires removal; monitor court orders and ensure timely packets.
• Provide EPMS planning and staff evaluations; participate in hiring and training and promote equal opportunity.
• Maintain child welfare certification; complete 20 hours of yearly training.
• Maintain awareness of trauma impacts; support families and staff against secondary trauma.
• Protect PII; safeguard agency networks and data.
• Perform Red Cross shelter duties and other emergency tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work/Bachelor's in Behavioral/Social Science

Bachelor's Degree in any other field + 1 year related experience

Master's Degree or higher may substitute for required work experience
