Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Child Support Specialist to provide full services to customers in all stages of the child support process. The Specialist conducts interviews by telephone and in person to determine service needs and to identify the next step in the case management process.

The role ensures all state, federal, and contractual time frames are met and includes extensive training on child support processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• Experience in human services as a case manager or child support is preferred.
• Familiarity with an office environment and automated systems is desired.

Responsibilities

• Initiates locate procedures to determine customer address, employment, and assets.
• Obtains and processes information necessary for establishing the support order.
• Conducts interviews with customers receiving and paying support.
• Answers phones and responds to customer requests.
• Prepares cases and documents for review by staff attorney or supervisor.
• Files legal pleadings and related documents with the court.
