Job summary

Tarrant County College is seeking a Budget Analyst to support the Public Health Department in planning, preparing, analyzing, and overseeing departmental budgets across levels I–IV.

The role involves monitoring expenditures, preparing reports, forecasting revenues, and ensuring compliance with county, state, and federal guidelines. It offers growth into senior project leadership with cross-division collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Experience requirements vary by level and are typically progressive (Level I–IV).
• Knowledge of budgeting principles, financial analysis, and grant management is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, evaluates, and monitors departmental and grant budgets.
• Monitors program revenue, expenditures, grants, and other funds for policy alignment.
• Prepares recurring and ad-hoc budget reports and data analyses for leadership.
• Estimates program costs and forecasts revenues and expenditures; supports planning.
• Analyzes accounting data to determine funding needs for programs and initiatives.
• Reviews grant contracts and fiscal documents for budgetary compliance.
• Supports budget system improvements and may lead projects at higher levels.
• Participates in special projects and may coordinate project teams.
