Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for on-site, per-diem support. You will closely supervise patients, assist with safety, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver essential recovery services.

The role emphasizes crisis management, empathetic patient interactions, and adherence to program protocols, with benefits available for full-time staff and a mission-driven environment supporting addiction and mental health care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Safe driving record with a clean DMV report (last 3 years).
• Must be at least 21 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements.
• Preferred: experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment.
• Preferred: associate's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Patient supervision and safety: monitor patients and facility grounds, document incidents.
• Waive testing: measure and report vital signs, conduct UDS and pregnancy tests.
• Patient interaction and support: offer emotional support and refer concerns to therapy staff.
• Communication and team collaboration: share information with Team Leader and Supervisor/Operations Director.
• Daily program and facility management: assist in patient transport, group coordination, and discharge preparations.
