Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our finance team in Indiana. You will support the Controller with core accounting, maintain internal controls, and oversee financial reporting.

Responsibilities include daily accounting, month-end and year-end closes, and cross-department collaboration to optimize workflows. You will also support external audits, drive process improvements, and help develop operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Proven hands-on experience with A/R, A/P, and full-cycle month-end close.
• Experience with ERP/core accounting systems and strong Excel skills.
• Clear communication, professionalism, and integrity in handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Support Controller with core accounting functions and internal controls.
• Manage daily accounting activities and drive monthly and year-end closes.
• Collaborate across departments to analyze variances and optimize workflows.
• Support external audit processes and financial reporting.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement streamlined controls.
