Job summary

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil or structural engineering or architecture.
• Five years of experience in review of building plans and enforcement of codes.
• Some lead or supervisory experience is desirable.
• Licensure/certifications are required or desirable as listed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overall management of the Building and Safety Division.
• Manage the Permit Service Center and Plan Check program areas.
• Interpret codes and regulations for various assignments.
• Provide information to clients and community members.
• Serve as Building Official in the Building and Safety Manager's absence.
