Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula is seeking an Instructional Support Staff to help deliver safe, engaging learning environments for TK-8 students at Redwood City sites. The role emphasizes teaching, facilitation, and coordination with professional development opportunities.

You will lead or co-lead classrooms, provide tutoring, and adapt enrichment activities (arts, cooking, STEM, fitness) while communicating with families and BGCP leadership.

Qualifications

• Commitment to BGCP’s mission and vision and working with TK-8 youth.
• Experience building relationships with diverse youth communities and constituents.
• Ability to motivate through positive reinforcement.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexible navigating a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred one year of experience working with K-8 youth.
• Spanish fluency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage (either as a co-lead or primary lead) a classroom of approximately 10-20 students per 1 staff.
• Provide academic mentoring and homework assistance.
• Lead students through academic activities.
• Adapt lesson plans for delivering enrichment classes and clubs (art, cooking, STEM, fitness, etc.).
• Conduct life skills and team-building activities.
• Communicate with parents/guardians, school staff, and BGCP leadership.
• Engage in weekly check-ins and participate in staff meetings.
• Maintain a positive, safe, productive work environment.
• Participate in supporting special events and field trips.
• Attend trainings and professional development opportunities.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
